Usage Rights Explainer

Usage type: organic, paid or both

Organic means the brand posts your content on its own pages, website or emails without paying to promote it. Paid means your content runs in ads, which reaches more people and drives sales directly, so it's usually priced 30–50% higher. Both covers organic and paid.

Duration

How long the brand can use the content, starting on the day the work is approved: 30 days, 90 days, 6 months, 12 months or perpetual (no end date). Longer durations are worth more. On Chozea, extending usage later needs a new paid agreement.

Whitelisting / Spark Ads

The brand runs ads through your own account or handle, so the ad looks like it came from you. It's usually priced around 30% of your base rate per month, so set the number of months.

Exclusivity

You agree not to work with competing brands in the same category for a set number of days. It limits your other income, so price it in.

Raw footage

The unedited clips behind your final video, so the brand can re-cut its own versions. It's usually priced at 30–50% of your base rate.
